Interested in exploring the concepts of movement and space? Sutra, a masterful and boundary breaking combination of modern dance and kung fu combat acrobatics will be running at the Helsinki City Theatre during the Helsinki Festival. Antony Gormley’s stunning stage design consists of a series of boxes, which are repositioned to create whole cities, temples and even wonders of nature.
The workshops are an opportunity for participants to experiment and explore the meanings that can be created through the use of boxes and the movement of the human body in relation to them. No previous experience required. The workshops will take place at the theatre’s rehearsal room. The group’s will gather in the theatre’s main foyer. The workshop’s are conducted by Mirja Neuvonen, Helsinki City Theatre Audience Outreach Coordinator.
These workshops are offered free of charge on a first come first served basis. Maximum group size 20. The workshops are suitable for participants aged 14 and over. Please wear loose comfortable clothing.
